The Theatre lyrique de la Montérégie presents Barbe-Bleue : The funniest of all of Jacques Offenbach’s operetta that surprises us with unexpected twists in all characters. No one gets away, not even the terrible Barbe-Bleue or the most innocent shepherdess.

Anti-Heroe, surprising deviances, special twits : Offenbach search the depth of the humain soul and reveals… the worst!

Barbe-Bleue will be directed by stage director Étienne Cousineau in a contemporary way, which Offenbach would have wanted. After all, the composer was using his operettas as social and politic satires.

Offenbach’s music will be performed rigorously and joyfully by our orchestra, under the direction of Maestro Donald Lavergne.
